Tornado strikes

We use weather data to assess damage in your area

Step 3
You receive your payout
Our policy works independently of any other policy. While you are working through your main policy claim or have any out-of-pocket costs, our policy will be there to help cover whatever you need most.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has a central Damage Assessment Toolkit database for tornado damage which we use to determine how close a damage point or area is to your house. The day after a tornado, the NWS will go out and survey the area, publishing the data for us to use within a few days of the event. The chart below shows how much you will receive if you’re within that EF damage area. Since we use data to figure out who gets paid out and how much, we don’t require you to file a claim since Sola will automatically notify you via email and text of your payout if in a damaged area. This system allows us to proactively send payouts to hundreds of homeowners at once if affected by a severe event.
Everyone has gaps, even starting at the deductible and limits of the policy. But other gaps can be found by looking for terms in the policy like”, “eligibility”, “exclusions”, and “limits of coverage” to understand what is and isn’t covered. (But be warned, this make take a while)
